This Week on Serious Eats

According to our handy site-metering utility, the top 10 most delicious items on Serious Eats last week were ...

1. Ask A Bartender: What Do You Drink Behind the Bar?
Some bartenders stick to lemon water... some rely on light-bodied beers for a smooth ride through the night, while others start on Negronis and switch over to Scotch.

2. How to Make Tomato Salsa from Scratch
There's no reason to buy salsa at the store when it's this easy to make from scratch.

3. Behind the Scenes at James Beard Best Cookbook Winner Modernist Cuisine's Cooking Lab
Last year we were fortunate enough to get a look behind the scenes at the Modernist Cuisine labs where a team of cooks, researchers, writers, and photographers worked for years to produce the 2012 James Beard Award winning cookbook.

4. Reality Check: The Lauginator, McDonald's Germany's Pretzel-bun Burger
In a move probably alleged to be a miracle of social marketing, McDonald's Germany unveiled the top five crowd-sourced burgers that earned the most votes in their "My Burger" campaign. The first and most interesting was the Laughinator (€4.69) aka the Pretzelnator.

5. Where to Eat Near AT&T Park in San Francisco
Since AT&T Park is in San Francisco, there are all kinds of good eating options outside the ballpark for pre- or post-game grubbing.

6. Kevin Gillespie's Guide to Where to Eat in Atlanta
Where's good to eat in Atlanta? We turned to Kevin Gillespie, finalist of Top Chef Season 6, to tell us his favorite places for breakfast, falafel, sandwiches, burgers, and much more.

7. How Is Domino's New Gluten-Free Pizza Crust?
Domino's began offering a gluten-free pizza crust, making it the first major chain to do so.

8. A Tour of Kalustyan's, the Indian Specialty Food Megastore
Of all the ethnic markets in NYC, few are as beloved (or well-stocked) as Kalustyan's. You may think you've seen Indian grocery stores, but until you've seen Kalustyan's, you don't really know the meaning of holy-crap-that's-a-lot-of-spices.

9. Snapshots from the 2012 James Beard Award Gala
One of the best moments? When Gramercy Tavern chef Michael Anthony licked caviar off his shiny Beard medal. That, and many other moments.

10. The Best Pad Thai in Chicago
Many, many noodles were eaten in order to find the best in the city.
