Anthony Bourdain's rascally approach? Invoke "nerd fury." Hit up any message board with an active international or travel community, and rather than simply asking them for advice, outright lie to them.

Just fire up your waffle iron, pat some pop-out Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough down, press, and voilà! Cinnamon roll waffles.

Chef Kino at La Maison was a sushi chef for 30 years then decided he needed a change. We spent a few hours in the kitchen while he was assembling La Maison's signature eclairs.

10. Nine Pancakes We Love in Chicago
There are plenty of places where you can go for a basic flapjack topped with nothing but maple syrup. Sure, those things can be delicious, but here are some pancakes that go beyond that.
